Wilkes-Barre Working Fire

Wilkes_Barre Fire

At approx. 01:10 hours, the Luzerne County 911 dispatched the Wilkes-Barre City Fire Department to 50 Brazil Street for a report of a fully involved house fire.  As city units went responding, 911 advised that they received a single call on this.  Wilkes-Barre Engine 2 arrived on scene and reported fire already through the roof of the residence with an exposure problem on side B.  Truck 6 arrived on scene and was able to obtain good position on Side C of the structure and placed their aerial device in service.  F-6 (Fire Command) arrived and assumed command, ordering a defensive attack due to a collapse of the 2nd floor. F-6 also requested 6 additional off duty members to report to the fire.  Fire was under control in about an hour with units remaining on scene.  No injuries were reported.  Fire is under investigation at this time. 911 Photography’s Ed Mizenko is originally from Luzerne County and was back home visiting when this fire broke out.
