Well Involved Fire In Littlestown Pa.

sjr_7167Firefighters from Adams and Carrol County Maryland battled this working fire Friday evening on the Baltimore Pike outside Littlestown in Mt Joy Township on Route 97. Firemen arrived to a well involved structure. Firefighters made an interior attack but retreated and went to exterior operations. PSP fire marshal was requested to the scene.

House Explodes, several Firemen Burned

Friday morning at 11:06 hrs, Adam County Company 20, the Alpha Fire Department from Littlestown Pa was dispatched to 372 Lexington Way for an inside investigation of a gas leak, meeting with Columbia Gas Company. Engine 202 arrived with normal conditions, after verifying no one home, forced entry into the house. Four firefighters were working in the basement when an explosion occurred, injuring all four members. Command 20 requested a box alarm assignment as well as three Advances Life Support units and BLS units, along with medivacs. Two firefighters were flown to the Bayview Burn Center in Baltimore Maryland for treatment of their injuries.

Fatal House Fire In Gettysburg

Shortly before lunchtime today Gettysburg Fire Department along with surrounding mutual aid departments were dispatched to Roberta Way in Cumberland Township for a house fire with people trapped. Cumberland Township Police Officers and Adams Regional EMS arrived finding the front of the house involved with fire and an occupant jumping from the front window. It was learned there was a second victim, after completing a 360 of the house, they were able to determine the 2nd victim was trapped in the rear porch. After several attempts to rescue the victim, Police and EMS was driven back from the smoke. Gettysburg Firefighters arrived a short time later and were able to pull the victim, however sadly the 2nd victim had succumbed. The 1st occupant was flown to the burn unit. Firefighters were able to bring the fire under control in 30 minutes.

2nd Alarm In Hanover Borough

AT 02:30 hours Wednesday morning York County Box 46-02 was struck for the structure fire with fire through the roof. Engine 46-3 called a working fire from one and a half blocks out. Engine 46-1 arriving on scene first, reported heavy fire in the rear of a two and a half story brick home, with reports pf people trapped.  Firefighters found occupants self evacuating after Hanover Borough Police officers kicked the door in to alert residents. Fully Involved Barn Fire on Arrival

Several Fire Departments from Adams, Carroll, & Frederick Counties battle this barn fire on King Road in Mount Joy Township just south of Gettysburg Pa. Deputy Chief 22 (Hubbard) arrived with a 75′ x 250′ barn with fire throughout the building. A Working Fire Dispatch and Tanker Task Force was dispatched to assist. In the height of firefighting operations, a heavy thunderstorm came through the area hampering the efforts of the crews.
