On Thursday, March 24, 2016 at 13:15 hours, York City Fire/Rescue was alerted for a residential structure fire at 741 South Court Street, reporting smoke coming from the first floor. Deputy Chief Deardorff was first to arrive on the scene, reporting smoke showing from the eaves of four row homes, two of which had been marked as “No FD entry” by the department due to known structural issues in the vacant homes. A room was well off on the second floor of one of the homes, and after evaluation of the fire conditions it was determined that it would be safe for firefighters to operate inside the building to control the fire. The fire had extended to the roof of the structure and the fire was confined to two homes. Mutual aid from Dover Township and York Area United Fire Departments responded on the working fire dispatch.

York County Box 46-05 was struck for a structure fire at 215 Carlisle Street ( Niki’s Sports Nook ) in Hanover Borough Monday evening at 20:58 hrs.. Engine 46-1 arrived to heavy fire showing from a two story apartment to the rear of 217 Carlisle Street. The engine companies made fast work of this fire, and considering the exposures were an occupied apartment building, and another house, great work was done to prevent the extension of this fire.
