Hay Bales Burn In Penn Township

Around 22:30 hours Labor Day, York County Box 49-02 was alerted for a brush fire at the intersection of York Street and Deagan Road. Fire apparatus arrived to close to 500 tightly packed large rolled hay bales burning. Units spent over fourteen hours extinguishing the  fires. Red Cross was on scene for rehab for approximately forty firefighters and EMS personnel. Several mutual aid departments assisted with the firefight. Photo by Bryan Felix

Stack Fire at UTZ

Adams County 911 Center dispatched units for a fire on the roof of Utz Qualty Foods on Kindig Lane in Conewago Township Wednesday afternoon. Chief 29 advised right away he had a good size column visible. Truck 46 arrived on location and advised this was in Hanover Borough and at the High Street facility. Firefighters found a stack on fire in the roof of the snack food producers. The box was placed in service within thirty minutes.

Grain Bin Fire At Hoke MIlls

Box alarm 33-12 was truck for the silo fire at Hoke Mills in Abbottstown Borough Wednesday evening. Units just returned from a previous house fire when this was alerted.

House Explodes, several Firemen Burned

Friday morning at 11:06 hrs, Adam County Company 20, the Alpha Fire Department from Littlestown Pa was dispatched to 372 Lexington Way for an inside investigation of a gas leak, meeting with Columbia Gas Company. Engine 202 arrived with normal conditions, after verifying no one home, forced entry into the house. Four firefighters were working in the basement when an explosion occurred, injuring all four members. Command 20 requested a box alarm assignment as well as three Advances Life Support units and BLS units, along with medivacs. Two firefighters were flown to the Bayview Burn Center in Baltimore Maryland for treatment of their injuries.

Mans Dies In Littlestown Apartment Fire

 
Adams County Box 20 was struck for an apartment  fire in the 100 block of South Queen Street in Littlestown Borough Saturday evening. Littlestown firefighers arrived to a working fire in a three story apartment building. Firefighters rescued an unconscious occupant from the structure and transported immediately to a hospital. Fire Showing In New Oxford

FIre1A fire broke out today just before 14:00 hours in the one hundred block of Lincoln Way East in New Oxford Borough.
