EARP Honors Lieutenant Mike Trostle’s Retirement

Lieutenant Mike Trostle from the Eastern Adams Regional Police Department was honored for his 20 years of service with the department recently. Lt Trostle retired over 2 years ago, however with all the conflicts of the department during that time was not recognized as he should have been. Several of Lt Trostle’s fellow Officer’s from within EARP and the surrounding Police Agencies attended the recognition. Lt Trostle was said by many as one of the best. He acted as the Police Chief several times during some management changes of the last few years of his career. EARP officers spoke about how he was a true leader and will be missed. Best of Luck to you Mike !

Shooting At Adams County Prison

Law enforcement officers from several Adams County jurisdictions are armed in a standoff with an armed male subject who arrived at the prison armed with AR15, handgun and a knife. The standoff lasted about 45 minutes when the subject pointed the AR15 at a window of the prison, a Pennsylvania State Police trooper fired one round into the subject. Ice Causes Crash With Confinement

York County Box 49-06 Was dispatched for a auto accident involving rollover and entrapment on the Abbottstown Pike Sunday morning (07:49 hrs). (This incident was originally dispatched as an Adams County Box 33-14). Units arrived to find a Jeep on it side with the occupants self extricated and a passenger car with a utility trailer on top of it with confinement of the occupants. United Hook And Ladder engine 33-2 immediately went to work stabilizing the vehicles as well as with the Hurst Tools doing two door pops on the Toyota while beginning patient care. Engines 46-1, Rescue 46-3 and Rescue 46 responded on the crash and Engine 46-1 assumed command. Penn Township Police were investigating and fire police from Penn and United had traffic control. House Fire With Rescue

A fast spreading kitchen fire in a New Oxford home in the early minutes of Saturday morning brought the United Hook and Ladder Fire Department to battle.  The two Eastern Adams Regional Police officers working the night shift arrived to reports of a man still inside the basement, possibly asleep. The two officers made entry, made a search r found the man either sleeping or passed out in the basement as reported. The fire department along with neigboring departments battled the fire for about 45 minutes. Photo Gallery of this fire is HERE.
