Dehumidifier Causes Hanover Fire

sjr_5369Box 46-05 was struck at 01:07 hours Sunday morning for a structure fire in the 500 block of North Frankin Street in Hanover Borough. With just a few short blocks for Engine 46-1, firefighters arrived on scene within three minutes with nothing showing. The owner, out of the house stating his house is full of smoke, firefighters began to do a 360 when they discover smoke pushing from side B, basement window and door. A working fire assignment was requested. Entry was made by E46 crew, finding heavy smoke throughout. In the basement a dehumidifier had caught fire. Minimal damage to the structure. Crews cleared the smoke, some over haul and took up in about one hour.

Friday The 13th Mobile Home Fire

SJR_1689Heavy smoke pours from burning mobile home on Browns Dam Road in New Oxford Pa, near Hampton in the Stockholm Mobile Home Park. Company 10 Engine 10-1 arrived to a fully involved mobile home where the occupants self evacuated prior to their arrival.

2nd Alarm Fire in 50+ MPH Winds

Around the midnight hour a York County 65 box was struck for the apartment building on fire on Capitol Hill Road. Units from York , Adams and Cumberland Counties battled this fire in 50 plus MPH winds and very cold temperatures near Franklintown Pa. Photos by contributing photographer Curtis Werner

Well Involved House in York County

 
Several York And Adams County fire departments operated at this well involved house fire this afternoon in Paradise Township on Maple Grove Road. A close call happened as seen in photos 1117-1133, the front wall collapsed nearly striking firefighters. The fire was placed under control in about one hour. This is the second time firefighters have responded to this property for fires, the first time was for a fully involved garage to the left of the this structure. The home owner told the police officers on scene, he was burning debris and it got away from him. this was the second house fire of the day for most of the firefighters on this incident.

Fatal Mobile Home Fire In Littlestown

Just before 03:00 hrs, Adams County Box 20-4 was struck for the house fire with entrapment on the Frederick Pike in Germany Township, Littlestown Pa. Chief 20 arrived on scene and immediately requested working fire dispatch. After the fire was marked under control, firefighters could get inside to search, sadly, a victim was found deceased among the rubble.  The Adams County Coroners office as well as PSP fire marshal is investigating. This fire was is the third fatal house fire in two weeks in Adams County. Photos submitted
