Several York And Adams County fire departments operated at this well involved house fire this afternoon in Paradise Township on Maple Grove Road. A close call happened as seen in photos 1117-1133, the front wall collapsed nearly striking firefighters. The fire was placed under control in about one hour. This is the second time firefighters have responded to this property for fires, the first time was for a fully involved garage to the left of the this structure. The home owner told the police officers on scene, he was burning debris and it got away from him. this was the second house fire of the day for most of the firefighters on this incident.

York County Box 52-13 was struck for the house fire with flames visible. Firefighters arrived to this large duplex with a fire showing. Firefighters initiated an aggressive attack on the fire and were able to hold it to the original area. Photos by Derrick Potts

Friday morning at 11:06 hrs, Adam County Company 20, the Alpha Fire Department from Littlestown Pa was dispatched to 372 Lexington Way for an inside investigation of a gas leak, meeting with Columbia Gas Company. Engine 202 arrived with normal conditions, after verifying no one home, forced entry into the house. Four firefighters were working in the basement when an explosion occurred, injuring all four members. Command 20 requested a box alarm assignment as well as three Advances Life Support units and BLS units, along with medivacs. Two firefighters were flown to the Bayview Burn Center in Baltimore Maryland for treatment of their injuries.

Shortly before lunchtime today Gettysburg Fire Department along with surrounding mutual aid departments were dispatched to Roberta Way in Cumberland Township for a house fire with people trapped. Cumberland Township Police Officers and Adams Regional EMS arrived finding the front of the house involved with fire and an occupant jumping from the front window. It was learned there was a second victim, after completing a 360 of the house, they were able to determine the 2nd victim was trapped in the rear porch. After several attempts to rescue the victim, Police and EMS was driven back from the smoke. Gettysburg Firefighters arrived a short time later and were able to pull the victim, however sadly the 2nd victim had succumbed. The 1st occupant was flown to the burn unit. Firefighters were able to bring the fire under control in 30 minutes.

Adams County Box 20 was struck for an apartment fire in the 100 block of South Queen Street in Littlestown Borough Saturday evening. Littlestown firefighers arrived to a working fire in a three story apartment building. Firefighters rescued an unconscious occupant from the structure and transported immediately to a hospital. Early Monday evening while Mother Nature was dropping yet more snow upon us, Franklin County 911 Center was alerting a house fire on E. Main Street in Fayetteville Pa. The first arriving unit reported fire through the roof on the Charlie Side of the one story single family dwelling. Units from Franklin and Adams Counties battled the blaze.
