RV Fire with Extension to the House

Gettysburg Firefighters along with mutual aid departments find a well involved RV fire in the driveway next to a house. A quick knock down by Engine 1-2 kept the fire from spreading past the siding of the house. Firefighters worked for 30 minutes before returning to service. Chief Shank had command.

Gettysburg Shed Fire

Sanders Road Shed Fire (6 of 61)Gettysburg Fire Department along with mutual aid from Biglerville & Heidlersburg found a well involved shed fire this afternoon on Sanders Road just north of Gettysburg. Firefighters quickly extinguished the shed and several small brush fires resulting from flying embers. Chief 1 (Shank) had command.

Gettysburg House Fire

Martin Road House Fire (13 of 123)

Gettysburg Fire Department along with surrounding mutual aid companies were dispatched for a House fire on Martin Road just east of Gettysburg. Chief 54 (AREMS) arrived reporting fire showing from the cockloft of a rancher style house. While the crews from Engine 33-1 & Tanker 6 placed an attack line in service, Gettysburg firefighters vented the house. A working fire dispatch was sounded. Firefighters had the fire knocked down and under control in 30 minutes.

Gettysburg Structural Burn Class

The Gettysburg Fire Department hosted a 16 hour structural burn class over the past week and today, held a “live burn” on a house donated by a local church along Table Rock Road in Gettysburg Pa. At the end of the class, the house was lit on fire one last time to burn it to the ground. While on fire, a group photo was captured to remember the educational and fun day of training.

Commercial Building Fire in York Springs

old15A small fire on the roof of Paul’s Garage in York Springs Pa. was controlled by workers with a garden hose  Tuesday afternoon prior to the fire department arrival. On arrival, the York Springs had smoke showing from the roof. York Springs firefighters along with mutual aide companies did some overhaul checking for extension and the box was placed in service in about 45 minutes. Gallery of photos HERE.

Working Fire Near Center Mills

Firefighters arrived to a working house fire in a two story single family swelling in Butler Township Saturday afternoon. one family dog was rescued and assisted by EMS while sadly, another dog perished in the fire. Chris Eiker brings us some nice photos of the Upper Adams firefighters in action today.
