Preventing Forest Fires In Florida

Forrestry burn

The Florida Forestry Service held a controlled burn of approx. 400 to 500 acres of woodland in the Croom Wildlife Management Area. This area is used for hunting and fishing, it has multiple trails for horseback riding, motor cross, mountain biking and walking trails. The Fl. Forestry Service holds these controlled burns periodically to reduce the underbrush so that a wildfire may be controlled easier during brush fire season.
