Early Morning House Fire in Gettysburg

A early morning Box Alarm was put out in Gettysburg Borough for a House Fire at Ridge Ave and Red Patch Ave. Gettysburg Police arrived first reporting a working House Fire. Gettysburg’s Engine 1-2 (1st Engine) and Arendtsville’s Tower 5 (1st Truck) crews put a good knock on the fire. This stubborn fire was worked for nearly 2 hours as hot spots continued to flare up. The fire is under investigation by the PSP Fire Marshall. Departments on the scene were Gettysburg FD, Arendtsville FC, Barlow FC, UH&L, Fairfield FC, Biglerville FC, Bendersville FC, and Penn Twp Fire/Rescue, and AREMS. Vehicle overturned with Confinement

Fairfield FD along with Frederick Co Rescue Squad 6 was alerted for an auto accident with entrapment. Units arrived to a vehicle overturned in a creek with 1 occupant confined to the vehicle. A quick door pop and firefighters extricated the patient to EMS.

Truck Company Opening Up In Fairfield Pa. 


Truck company 6 members of the Vigilant Fire Company of Emmittsburg Md. work on opening up and extinguising hot spots on the roof of Quadgraphics in Fairfield Pa. this morning after responding to a reported commercial building fire. Employees at the facility had the fire pretty much extinguished prior to the arrival of the fire department. Photo Submitted

Fatal House Fire In Gettysburg

Shortly before lunchtime today Gettysburg Fire Department along with surrounding mutual aid departments were dispatched to Roberta Way in Cumberland Township for a house fire with people trapped. Cumberland Township Police Officers and Adams Regional EMS arrived finding the front of the house involved with fire and an occupant jumping from the front window. It was learned there was a second victim, after completing a 360 of the house, they were able to determine the 2nd victim was trapped in the rear porch. After several attempts to rescue the victim, Police and EMS was driven back from the smoke. Gettysburg Firefighters arrived a short time later and were able to pull the victim, however sadly the 2nd victim had succumbed. The 1st occupant was flown to the burn unit. Firefighters were able to bring the fire under control in 30 minutes.

Entrapment In Adams County

Early Thursday morning near Fairfield Pennsylvania an auto accident was dispatched for a passenger car into a tree with entrapment. Units arrived to a passenger heavily entrapped. An extrication was performed by Fairfield firefighters and the patient was flown from the scene. Photos Submitted

Burning Golf Cart Ignites Gettysburg Barn

BigginsCumberland Township Police Sergeant Biggins uses a garden hose to put a knock on a fire that had extended from a burning golf cart to the barn. The homeowner used a pickup truck to pull the burning cart from the barn prior to the Gettysburg Fire Departments arrival. Photo Gallery Link is HERE
