RV Fire with Extension to the House

Gettysburg Firefighters along with mutual aid departments find a well involved RV fire in the driveway next to a house. A quick knock down by Engine 1-2 kept the fire from spreading past the siding of the house. Firefighters worked for 30 minutes before returning to service. Chief Shank had command.

Smoke in the Building from Mulch Fire

Gettysburg Firefighters found Smoke throughout the building at the Hilton Garden Inn. The smoke appeared to be the result of a Mulch Fire near the HVAC unit. The building occupants were evacuated for a short period of time until the incident was placed under control by firefighers.

Gettysburg Shed Fire

Sanders Road Shed Fire (6 of 61)Gettysburg Fire Department along with mutual aid from Biglerville & Heidlersburg found a well involved shed fire this afternoon on Sanders Road just north of Gettysburg. Firefighters quickly extinguished the shed and several small brush fires resulting from flying embers. Chief 1 (Shank) had command.

Gettysburg House Fire

Martin Road House Fire (13 of 123)

Gettysburg Fire Department along with surrounding mutual aid companies were dispatched for a House fire on Martin Road just east of Gettysburg. Chief 54 (AREMS) arrived reporting fire showing from the cockloft of a rancher style house. While the crews from Engine 33-1 & Tanker 6 placed an attack line in service, Gettysburg firefighters vented the house. A working fire dispatch was sounded. Firefighters had the fire knocked down and under control in 30 minutes.

Brethren Home Building Fire

SJR_9815A large building under construction on the Brethren Home Community Complex burned to the ground early Saturday morning. Multiple explosions rocked the fire ground after several propane cylinders exploded.

Working Fire In Gettysburg

 Box 1 was struck at 12:30 hours Saturday for a commercial building fire in the 100 block of Buford Avenue in the borough of Gettysburg. The Gettysburg Fire Department being already out on a reported structure fire was advised of a second  fire being dispatched which was reported to be a working fire.  Units arrived to fire blowing out the second story windows. The fire was under control in about thirty minutes.
