One Pinned Under Tractor

Adams County Box 1-9 was dispatched to 1655 Highland Ave Rd, for a report of a overturned farm tractor. Medic 54 arrived on scene and found same. Gettysburg Rescue & Truck responded along with Barlow Rescue 22. Units utilized airbags along with rescue struts and cribbing to free male patient. Units operated for about 1/2 hr before patient was free due to rough terrain. Engine 22 handled the LZ, Stat MedEvac flew patient to trauma center with moderate injuries. Captain 1 had command. Small Barn Fire In New Oxford

A firefighter from New Oxford directs a hand line at a small fire in a barn type building Thursday afternoon on Berlin Road in Hamilton Township, New Oxford. The fire was contained within twenty minutes with minimal damage considering how windy the conditions were at the time of the fire.

Entrapment On York Road

Fire in the Attic on arrival

A Lunchtime Box Alarm was sounded on Jan 9th 2017 for a House Fire on March Creek Road just south of Gettysburg. Firefighters arrived to find this 1.5 story dwelling with Smoke showing from the roof. Firefighters made quick work of extinguishing the fire. Departments on the scene are listed in the tags below.

Car Snaps Utility Pole On York Road

aUnited Hook and Ladder firefighters responded to a reported auto accident with entrapment on Friday afternoon at the entrance to the Bridges Golf Course on the York Road. EMS arrived to find one occupant still on the car, not entrapped.

Fatal House Fire In Gettysburg

Shortly before lunchtime today Gettysburg Fire Department along with surrounding mutual aid departments were dispatched to Roberta Way in Cumberland Township for a house fire with people trapped. Cumberland Township Police Officers and Adams Regional EMS arrived finding the front of the house involved with fire and an occupant jumping from the front window. It was learned there was a second victim, after completing a 360 of the house, they were able to determine the 2nd victim was trapped in the rear porch. After several attempts to rescue the victim, Police and EMS was driven back from the smoke. Gettysburg Firefighters arrived a short time later and were able to pull the victim, however sadly the 2nd victim had succumbed. The 1st occupant was flown to the burn unit. Firefighters were able to bring the fire under control in 30 minutes.
