A well involved barn fire was fought by several departments from two states ( Pennsylvania and Maryland) Friday night. The barn was approximately 30×50′ in size. Photos by Derrick Potts and Joe Carter

A early morning Box Alarm was put out in Gettysburg Borough for a House Fire at Ridge Ave and Red Patch Ave. Gettysburg Police arrived first reporting a working House Fire. Gettysburg’s Engine 1-2 (1st Engine) and Arendtsville’s Tower 5 (1st Truck) crews put a good knock on the fire. This stubborn fire was worked for nearly 2 hours as hot spots continued to flare up. The fire is under investigation by the PSP Fire Marshall. Departments on the scene were Gettysburg FD, Arendtsville FC, Barlow FC, UH&L, Fairfield FC, Biglerville FC, Bendersville FC, and Penn Twp Fire/Rescue, and AREMS. Monday (8-8-17) Hanover and Penn Township Firefighters were called to a House Fire on Pleasant Street in Hanover Borough. Firefighters found a fire showing from a single family home. Local Law Enforcement already on the scene advised they had a person of interest who barricaded himself inside the home. After a few hours of the standoff, smoke began coming from the home. The suspect a short time later bailed out of the house and was taken into custody. Firefighters extinguished the fire after the scene deemed safe.

Truck 46 of the Hanover Fire Department sits in front of a two story, single family dwelling where firefighters from York County Stations 46 & 49 responded for smoke in the attic. Chief 79 (Clousher) arrived to find the odor of smoke and wood burning from the exterior of the home. A small electrical fire was found to be the origin of the odors. Photo Submitted
