At 04;19 Saturday morning, York County Box 46-01 was struck for a vehicle fire in Hanover Borough to the rear of 501 Moul Avenue in the alley. Shortly after dispatch, York County 911 upgraded the assignment to a structure fire with a reported garage on fire. Engine 49-2 out of the Clearview Station several blocks away arrived within three minutes of dispatch reporting “we have a small garage off”, and laid a line from from the hydrant on McKinley Avenue. The crew immediately attacked the burning brand new Dodge Charger beside the garage as it was extending to the garage. Engine 46-1 from the Wirt Park Station positioned on Moul Avenue on the Alpha side, and ran hand lines to the burning garage. Truck 49 arrived, staging on Moul ave, set out throwing ground ladders and began opening up. Engine 46-1’s crew while inside had their nozzle and coupling completely separate from the hose line. The fire was placed under control in about thirty minutes, Chief 49 along with Hanover Borough Police were investigating. More Photos HERE

A small fire on the roof of Paul’s Garage in York Springs Pa. was controlled by workers with a garden hose Tuesday afternoon prior to the fire department arrival. On arrival, the York Springs had smoke showing from the roof. York Springs firefighters along with mutual aide companies did some overhaul checking for extension and the box was placed in service in about 45 minutes. Gallery of photos HERE.

The second working fire in two days for S.A.V.E.S. (South Eastern Adams Volunteer Emergency Services). Today was a 20×40 garage fire on Fairview Avenue in Conewago Township. Chief 29 had command. This weeks Photo Of The Week was captured by SJROTH back on 1-29-12 in Adams County Box 1-8 on Coleman Road. The Gettysburg Fire Department was dispatched for a barn fire.
