Truck Goes Through House

Early Friday morning around 01:30 hours, a tractor trailer driver apparently lost control of his eighteen wheeler, drifting off the roadway and slamming directly into a 138 year home along US Route 194 near East Berlin Pennsylvania. The truck proceeded to go all the way through the home with the cab sticking out the other side. The driver self extricated and assisted the 84 year old female home owner to safety. She was asleep about ten feet from where the truck entered the house. The house appeared to be a total loss. Photo gallery HERE

Working Mobile Home FIre

Firefighters advance in on a working mobile home fire Friday evening in Adams County Pa. Units were dispatched for a house fire with possible entrapment. Entrapment proved negative. The fire department arrived to find a working fire in a mobile home with a large addition added on. The companies were hampered by a narrow 2000 foot long, up hill dirt lane to the fire, only a brush truck, and two small tankers could get up the lane. Considering the situation and water supply issues, the majority of the home was saved, suffering only smoke and water damage. The mobile home section was probably a total loss.  Photo Gallery is HERE
