Early Morning House Fire in Gettysburg

A early morning Box Alarm was put out in Gettysburg Borough for a House Fire at Ridge Ave and Red Patch Ave. Gettysburg Police arrived first reporting a working House Fire. Gettysburg’s Engine 1-2 (1st Engine) and Arendtsville’s Tower 5 (1st Truck) crews put a good knock on the fire. This stubborn fire was worked for nearly 2 hours as hot spots continued to flare up. The fire is under investigation by the PSP Fire Marshall. Departments on the scene were Gettysburg FD, Arendtsville FC, Barlow FC, UH&L, Fairfield FC, Biglerville FC, Bendersville FC, and Penn Twp Fire/Rescue, and AREMS. Fire in the Attic on arrival

A Lunchtime Box Alarm was sounded on Jan 9th 2017 for a House Fire on March Creek Road just south of Gettysburg. Firefighters arrived to find this 1.5 story dwelling with Smoke showing from the roof. Firefighters made quick work of extinguishing the fire. Departments on the scene are listed in the tags below.

Smoke in the Building from Mulch Fire

Gettysburg Firefighters found Smoke throughout the building at the Hilton Garden Inn. The smoke appeared to be the result of a Mulch Fire near the HVAC unit. The building occupants were evacuated for a short period of time until the incident was placed under control by firefighers.

Vehicle overturned with Confinement

Fairfield FD along with Frederick Co Rescue Squad 6 was alerted for an auto accident with entrapment. Units arrived to a vehicle overturned in a creek with 1 occupant confined to the vehicle. A quick door pop and firefighters extricated the patient to EMS.

Gettysburg Shed Fire

Sanders Road Shed Fire (6 of 61)Gettysburg Fire Department along with mutual aid from Biglerville & Heidlersburg found a well involved shed fire this afternoon on Sanders Road just north of Gettysburg. Firefighters quickly extinguished the shed and several small brush fires resulting from flying embers. Chief 1 (Shank) had command.

Working Fire Pumping Station Road


York County Box 52-13 was struck for the house fire with flames visible. Firefighters arrived to this large duplex with a fire showing. Firefighters initiated an aggressive attack on the fire and were able to hold it to the original area. Photos by Derrick Potts
