Car off Roadway

Gettysburg Fire Department and AREMS responded to Fairfield Road and Woodcrest Drive for an auto accident with entrapment. Units arrived to find 1 car off the roadway into a ditch, with confinment. AREMS provided patient care, and GFD extinguished a small fire with a fire extinguisher.

Units of scene: Rescue 1, Medic 54-1 & 54-3, Chief 54, Cumberland Twp Police and Fire Police. Chief 1 (Shank) had command.

Body Found In Conewago Creek

The Pennsylvania State Police are on scene investigating a body found floating in the Conewago Creek off Boy Scout Road in Hamilton Township. The Adams County coroners office had two representatives on scene. Hampton Fire Department assisted on scene with Service 10.  Adams County coroner stated a adult male was found deceased.

Gettysburg Police Sergeant retires

Sergeant Kevin Wilson is recognized by the Mayor of Gettysburg after 32 years of service. Sgt Wilson has decided to retire. A 32 year career in Police work these days is quite an achievement. Sgt Wilson has been involved with nearly every aspect of the Gettysburg Police Departments  operations over the years. He is well known throughout the area. Sgt Wilson was extremely courteous to the 911 Photography crew at incidents. Great Job Sgt Wilson and Happy Retirement !

EARP Honors Lieutenant Mike Trostle’s Retirement

Lieutenant Mike Trostle from the Eastern Adams Regional Police Department was honored for his 20 years of service with the department recently. Lt Trostle retired over 2 years ago, however with all the conflicts of the department during that time was not recognized as he should have been. Several of Lt Trostle’s fellow Officer’s from within EARP and the surrounding Police Agencies attended the recognition. Lt Trostle was said by many as one of the best. He acted as the Police Chief several times during some management changes of the last few years of his career. EARP officers spoke about how he was a true leader and will be missed. Best of Luck to you Mike !

Burning Golf Cart Ignites Gettysburg Barn

BigginsCumberland Township Police Sergeant Biggins uses a garden hose to put a knock on a fire that had extended from a burning golf cart to the barn. The homeowner used a pickup truck to pull the burning cart from the barn prior to the Gettysburg Fire Departments arrival. Photo Gallery Link is HERE

Shooting At Adams County Prison

Law enforcement officers from several Adams County jurisdictions are armed in a standoff with an armed male subject who arrived at the prison armed with AR15, handgun and a knife. The standoff lasted about 45 minutes when the subject pointed the AR15 at a window of the prison, a Pennsylvania State Police trooper fired one round into the subject. The subject died the next day at York Hospital. Photo Gallery
