A firefighter from New Oxford directs a hand line at a small fire in a barn type building Thursday afternoon on Berlin Road in Hamilton Township, New Oxford. The fire was contained within twenty minutes with minimal damage considering how windy the conditions were at the time of the fire.

Franklin County firefighters from several departments responded for the skid loader on fire. Prior to arrival, communications advised additional calls indicated the shed was now on fire. E-45 arrived to fully involved large out building. Crews worked for about three hours with overhaul before going in service.

Gettysburg Fire Department and surrounding mutual aid firefighters battled this early morning Barn Fire on Knoxlyn-Orrtanna Road in extreme cold temperatures (13deg). Firefighters found a well involved Barn Fire on arrival. A Working Fire Dispatch was sounded along with several Tankers to shuttle water to the scene.
** We did not want to release the injured Gettysburg Firefighter information, but now that the local news media has the information, a firefighter was injured while successfully rescuing a horse from his neighbors barn prior to fire apparatus arriving.
