Fiery Crash On Route 15

Entrapment, Two Flown From 94 Crash

DSC_3941Several fire departments, three ambulances, medic units, helicopters and the Pennsylvania State Police responded to a near head-on accident on the Carlisle Pike (Route 94) at the intersection of 700 Road. A passenger SUV and a commercial truck collided, causing heavy entrapment and severe life threatening injuries to the passengers of the SUV. Two occupants from the SUV were flown via Stat13 and Life Lion helicopters to area trauma centers.

Double Entrapment In Gettysburg

Gettysburg Firefighters were dispatched this afternoon for an auto accident reported with entrapment. Firefighters arrived to find two autos with two people trapped. Deputy Chief Wasylyk assumed command and requested a 2nd & 3rd Rescue to assist with extrication. Numerous EMS agencies assisted including Life Lion and Life Net Medevacs.  Gettysburg Fire Department was assisted by Barlow and United Hook & Ladder Rescues, Biglerville and Adams Regional EMS as well as PSP.  Photos by Ed Mizenko

Vehicle Accident with Fire

Gettysburg Fire Department was alerted for an auto accident with fire this afternoon in front of the Peace Light on Mummasburg Rd in Cumberland Twp. Firefighters found a 2 vehicle accident with injures and 1 SUV on fire. Adams Regional EMS tended to the patients while the crew from Rescue-Engine 1 extinguished the fire. The incident was under control in a few minutes.

Cars Collide At Cross Keys

SJR_1992Several cars collided at the intersection of Carlisle Pike and York Road Sunday afternoon while light rain fell on the area. United Hook and Ladder firefighters were busy on another accident scene when this happened. The engines and rescue cleared the first crash to respond to this one where it appeared only one person was injured and being tended to by EMS and a passing EMT who stopped to assist. Pennsylvania State police were on scene investigating.

One Upside Down On 15

The York Springs Fire Department along with mutual aid companies Franklintown Fire Department and various EMS units responded for the vehicle accident reported with rollover and entrapment on US Route 15 south bound lane at mile marker 25.2 near the Mountain Road intersection. Units arrived to a passenger vehicle upsode down on its rood with one occupant still inside, as well as a tractor trailer off the roadway. The occupant was not entrapped, patient care was provided by a passer by fireman from Louden County FD, until the EMS units arrived on scene. Pennsylvania State Police were investigating.
