Today we remember, Pennsylvania Game Commission officer David L. Grove on the third anniversary of his murder in the line of duty. On a cold Thursday evening, November 11, 2010, WCO Grove was on patrol investigating deer poachers when he made a vehicle stop on Schriver Road in Freedom Township of Adams County Pennsylvania. A struggle ensued between Grove and the driver of the car, a known felon, when the subject shot and wounded Grove. Officer Grove was able to return fire with his service weapon, striking the subject. Sadly, WCO Grove succumbed to his injuries that evening. A county wide manhunt was launched, and the subject was apprehended the very next morning.
The murderer of WCO Grove was sentenced to death, and is currently sitting on death row.
